 The 1.06 level will work in all modems (with proper country codes), but it
 has not been optimized for use on the US/Canada PSTN. It is simply less
 stable here.
 Yes, I *know* this as a fact. Believe me on this one. Non-US customers
 should try the latest and see if it offers an improvement. US customers
 should wait just a bit.
