Hello:
As you may know, or not know, there is a Scout camp in MI run by the BSA,
which staffs itself with international leaders. Most of the Leaders being
from Europe.
The BSA handle all the INS paperwork for the International Leader to work for
the summer at the camp. In order to be a member of the staff, you must be
invited, by the camp, on the advisement of the BSA. You must also meet
specific guidlines with respect to health and physical fitness--pursuant to
the skills you will be teaching.
The majority of the boys who attend this camp are inner-city boys (mostly
from Detroit) who would never have the opportunity to go to camp, let alone a
jamboree. It has proven very successful.
I have been conditionally invited to teach the hiking MB next summer. My
question to you is, have you ever been to this camp? Any suggestions?
i would be interested in hearing from you if you have been to this camp.
Thanks in advance!
Good Scouting,
David Giles
