Craig! I'm not questioning your expertise.
My post was to inform the readers who are not experts.
The _defective_ capacitor may go lower in capacitance,
and/or higher in leakage (more important, in terms of damage).
My point about clarity, was just to explain what is meant by higher/lower
in regards to capacitors.
The thread was about damage. The whole thing is off topic, but I wanted to
help make it clear, because I find component failure modes interesting :)
and want to know more about the subject!
