There are two things to check for... in your autoexec.bat check for the
existance of the following files...
=====Begin: Autoexec.Bat======
SET ETC=c:\tcpip\dos\etc
=====END: Autoexec.Bat======
This variable points to the resolv file,
=====Begin: Resolv======
domain intergate.bc.ca
nameserver 205.206.192.2
=====END: Resolv======
I have also had to add when using mirc, the following to the autoexec.bat
le
SET RESOLV=C:\TCPIP\DOS\ETC
The addition of the above seems to have cured a small problem with mirc about
having to keep pushing a button about socket not found/connected. Mirc would
work if you pushed button quickly enough...
The second thing to check is that you have correctly put the dns numbers
particular when using the DIAL OTHER INTERNET PROVIDER DIALER (doip)....
This could explain why when using numeric values that you obtain a connect.

Derek
