RJT> This is starting to sound a bit like the attempts at managing what I RJT> have to do here -- I made a list the other day, nowhere near complete, RJT> but what is there is all technical stuff and it's all stuff that I've RJT> been meaning to get to for some time, but somehow I never quite seem RJT> to get around to it. The Pentium is a priority just now though it has been lingering on the back burner for some time. The beginning of next month I'll buy the A drive and battery first, install them and make certain I'm good to go there than run out and snag a 60 Gig. drive to slap in it. RJT> Maybe putting in written form and organizing my RJT> thoughts a bit further will help me make it happen, maybe not. I should make lists for the next day myself. Today's only chore is to bathe the dog which I used to do every two weeks, than became a month and just now four months because of my back. However now I'm waking up smelling like the pooch as he sleeps with me so it needs to be done. Short laid down hair indoor dog so he's not that bad. WC> That's what the political climate has fostered. Watched "On Death WC> and Dying" with Bill Moyers and a doctor dying of esophegous WC> cancer couldn't get adaquate pain medication at the hospital he WC> formerly worked in as an oncologist :-( RJT> Was that on his "NOW" show? I started to watch that but gave up after RJT> one episode in which he really went on a rant, I couldn't believe what RJT> sort of crap he was spouting. I haven't had the inclination to look at RJT> it since then. Haven't seen NOW just seen it listed however "On Death and Dying" was a separate and independent production not related to any ongoing series. Show followed a number of terminal cases from late stage to the end with patient consent. Seems these terminal patients wanted the option to die with dignity, voluntary euthanasia, and were willing to go public with their very personal trageties to work towards legalization. One large formerly active fellow in Texas was reduced to having his wife having to feed him and take care of personal needs but he was lucky, former farm veteranarian so he had what he needed to go when he choose to no matter what the law had to say about it. The heartbreaker was the nurse in Oregon suffering from terminal cancer who having met all the requirements for being given a barbituate cocktail and a dignified exit listened to a plea from her daughter and waited until she flew in for one last visit. By the time the daughter had flown in the woman could no longer swallow and Oregon law had no other provision under which the woman's wishes could be respected. She died nine days later having no quality of life in the interrum and denied her very last wish. RJT> I've seen only one in recent years, they ended up sending me a bill RJT> rather than submitting it to my insurance (I'm still letting them RJT> hassle that one out), I never got any results for what I went in there RJT> for, and the place where the practice was stood empty the last time I RJT> went by there. I had one appointment with the guy that Nancy's seeing, RJT> they said they were gonna try and get the records on what went down, RJT> I haven't heard back from them yet, and that was several months ago RJT> now. It's a breathing thing, it's seasonal, and related to weather as RJT> well, which leads me to think allergy, so there oughta not be too RJT> damn much difficulty in finding out and dealing with it. We'll see how RJT> it goes from here... I can relate to the breathing thing, up until 17 I was really messed up with allergies, took the shots ect. Been fine since than, seemed to help when I moved a thousand miles once or twice and different pollens. Another thing I did was QUIT SMOKING which was bringing back my earlier problems with a vengence :-( Two years after quitting all was well again. WC> If I *ever* see a doctor again I'm going to make him do a spinal WC> x-ray before anything else. Problem there being getting a clear one WC> as they position me in such a way I involuntarily shake from the WC> pain and pinched nerves, such was a major problem back in 95. RJT> A good radiologist is also hard to find. I remember when I broke my RJT> collarbone in a car crash some years back the tech screwed up, and had RJT> to do it over, while I was seeing only shades of gray, and according RJT> to what I'm told turning various shades of green. What pissed me off RJT> was that they billed for both of them! Shoot Finn ran four series before he gave up. The man's an orthopedic surgeon, you're in there for a severe spinal injury and he's no clue nor provisions to allow for the condition making the positioning for the x-ray to be taken being a problem? had it been possible to take the x-ray laying flat on my back that was doable but might not have revealed what he needed to see. I've got the x-rays and only one is marginally readable. The NMRI's came through clear enough though, in fact I went to sleep in the machine which the nurse said she'd never seen before. --- MultiMail/PBellDOS v0.42* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 379/1 633/267 |
