We are SNET here in Connecticut (Southern New England Telephone), which was aquired by SBC: SNET has a near-monopoly on the phone market here, and so we (the ISP I used to work for) dealt with then constantly. As phone companies go, having also dealt with Verizon and such, SNET was pretty good: but now it is in the SBC downward spiral. Their DSL circuits (and frame-relay) are handled by ASI, which AFAIK is another SBC subsidiary: I always got good results from their techs: they *wanted* to get it working; but then, I was dealing with the level-two and -three techs and not the front lines, plus I know how to get along with them. The guy that replaced me has them foaming at the mouth: they hate each other (hee, hee, hee). I am on my old company's DSL now, with a SNET-provided circuit but routed to the company's network via an ATM circuit: our network internally is noticeably faster than theirs. -- Steve http://www.qmss.com/~sewing --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-4* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/1.45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/1 633/267 |
