We do agree and IMHO the key words are "always open on top", whereas
my frame of reference was to a "closed" box (not air tight to
suffocate the occupant but sound proof to keep him quiet till we
want or need him to speak)! Of course much more could be discussed
on this subject, but I feel that you are aware of all the ramifications!

DM> As for "Yahweh in a box", I cannot comment, still ill prepared
DM> to grasp the concept within my own knowing to reason.

Which is fine if you do not see the connection as I for one would
never push for answers that are still uncertain in one's mind!

DM> The general field of pagan roots that fed into early Christianity

We agree on the first sentence, but IMHO it is easily sifted out
through the pages of The Bible! Well, I also did for a time, until
it dawned on me that it was indeed my place to judge within my own
limits of understanding, but in no case am I to condemn for only He
has that prerogative! The more I see, the simpler it truly gets,
for when I was truly blind it was indeed ALL complicated, but only
because "I" made it so and NOT because that it was! And this is in
no way to say that I know and see everything, for NO man has ever
had that capability but ONE, but it is only to say that what little
my eyes have been opened does present a world completely opposite
to the one previously viewed and to learn it all IMHO can never be
 done, even unto eternity!
 DM> @@ ... dave ...

HeeHee, I think that you have cute eyes dave! ;)
However, this is my week for girls, so don't get jumpy! ;)

DM> P.S. I might add that most ALL the non orthodox Christian-ish
DM> works are also available on the WWW, at least all those I've
DM> ever had need to examine (many virtually unavailable anywhere
DM> else) .....;some a bit tricky to locate .........and also a
DM> lifetime mass to actually digest and read...!
I already had that in the back of my mind when I purchased this
new PC so I could get on the Internet and already I have down
loaded a Book on Elijah which was 484KB and just bring it up on
screen when time permits and read a few pages and use seven "*'s"
to mark the important texts for later reference! HeeHee, if a
person were to start reading when they were born and read every
waking hour of their life and live to be a thousand, they couldn't
read all the books that have been written to date and it is getting
worse all the time and FASTER! I am, after being on the Internet
several times, about 10 or so, am finally figuring out how to find
my way around a little and how to use the search engines, which are
indeed a great help and as this younger generation would say, I am
just about to get my official surf board! ;)
Just another humble servant of The Kingdom.......clarence.......
... I don't have the solution, but I do admire the problem! :)))))))
