WC>-=> JEAN PARROT wrote to WAYNE CHIRNSIDE <=- WC>JP> Good morning, Wayne. WC> WC> My knee is badly messed up too but nothing compared to the back. ->snipped<- Have either of you tried glucosamine with chondroitin yet? I have had an arthritic spine for over 50 years that some NSAIDs helped manage some; until VIOXX produced a couple bleeding stomach ulcers last July 14th, so no more NSAIDs any more. My son had unsuccessfully tried glucosamine for his knees, but my GP suggessed I might be one of the 50% that realize some relief from it, so I gave it a try. It and 2 tylenols 3x/day help keep me mobile, after I manage to get out of the bed in the morning. So long as one isn't intolerant of shellfish, it generally doesn't have any side affects; and hopefully you may be lucky also. Start with a two 1500mg capsule 3x/day for the first 90 days and then moderate down to one 1500mg capsule three times per day. I find the Mason Vitamine Inc. of Miami Lakes, Fl capsules (1500mg glucosamine sulfate and 1500mg chondroitin sulfate with a smeegin of vitamin c and manganese) are the easiest to get down.
