By the time I get around to a CD burner DVD burners may be affordable? RJT> MBs sitting around and I could upgrade some of what I'm running, like RJT> this box ferinstance, by just taking the time to shut it down and tear RJT> it apart, stick a different MB in there. There was a time when I'd jump at the RJT> chance to get a "new" (usually much faster) system or take a big jump RJT> in drive space, or things like that. Was a time any hardware tweak got my immediate attention too. Now it seems I'm content to lag behind and wait until it's imperitive in order to effectively operate. Looking forward that 56K software modem with Linux driver too! RJT> at this point I'm content to RJT> hold off on that stuff a bit. My one foray a couple of months back to RJT> look at what was out there in terms of new MBs and such convinced me RJT> that I wasn't ready to jump into that stuff just yet. You'd be more prepared if you were online, read reviews at Tom's Hardware site, www.motherboards.org and download and read the manuals for the new boards. They appear intimidating at first however once you've read the manual all the strange terminology becomes apparent and in fact is much simpler than what we're used to. RJT> If nothing else there's always the car wash... :-) No way I'd treat my Pit Bull that way. I wash him in warm water in the tub and even heated the apartment the other day so he'd not be cold when he got out of the tub. The NMRI's came through clear enough though, in fact WC> I went to sleep in the machine which the nurse said she'd never WC> seen before. RJT> Heh. I'm not that far from it myself at this point. Been shorting RJT> myself on sleep for days, and I finally have a weekend at hand to make RJT> up for it! :-) This was 8:30 A.M. and that loud clanking was going on as they energize the magnets but with the injury I _wake up_ exhasted. Mildly claustophbic too but they had to wake me up after the NMRI. --- MultiMail/PBellDOS v0.42* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 379/1 633/267 |
