 Coffee pots are notorious, I've had two meltdowns and a
 well known name brand bit me
 when the back panel became electrically _hot_.

No well needed just a pit with, in the old days, earthenware
jugs of water surrounded with insulation, perhaps dry sawdust?
Today I'd use styrofoam.

Are you kidding, it got COLD last night.
I believe it may have dipped down to a fridged 
60 degrees F!
I requiered  a top sheet it was so cold.
