Daniel, at 11:02 on Nov 29 1995, you wrote to All... DM> In my computers users manual its says that I can install 1 Mb x 9 SIMMs, DM> that is all it says. I have opened up computer and the SIMM slots are DM> 30-pin slots. I was just wondering if anyone could possibly tell me what DM> the "9" means in 1 Mb x "9" SIMMs and whether or not it is important. It relates to the physical number of chips on the SIMM itself, and is only important insofar as the fact that they tend not to coexist too happily with 3-chip SIMMs (generally only when they're in the same bank though). In days past, I've used 3-chip SIMMs in one bank, and 9-chip SIMMs in the other, without any problems at all. DM> I would also be appreciative if anyone could tell me what kind of price I DM> could expect to pay for two of these 1Mb x 9 SIMMs. 2nd hand, between $30-$40 each, but I hope you're not thinking of installing just two of these, as unless your machine is an SX with a 16-bit bus, you must install SIMMs in multiples of four.
