It has nothing to do with CP437 or whatever codepage setting. The musical note
(hex 0E) is not part of CP437 or any other character encoding systen in use in
Fidonet. It is an undocumented feature of some hardware/software combinations
that some control codes (hex 00-1F) are displayed as printable characters,
The use of undocumented features in a world wide network is bad practise.
