I dunno what you mean exactly -- as Watcom installed on my system, the
include statement is as follows:
 
INCLUDE=.;E:\WATCOM\SOM\INCLUDE;E:\WATCOM\H\OS2;E:\WATCOM\H; 
Thus it "checks" the currenct directory first anyway... (".")...
 
I include my own headers all of the time although I do use the format of
 
#include "my_hdr.hpp" 
 
as the format.....this lets me know exactly WHERE this header file is coming from....
