subject: RAM info wanted

DM> In my computers users manual its says that I can
DM> install 1 Mb x 9 SIMMs, that is all it says. I have
DM> opened up computer and the SIMM slots are 30-pin slots.

DM> I was just wondering if anyone could possibly tell me what the
DM> "9" means in 1 Mb x "9" SIMMs and whether or not
it is important.

Thats referring to the number of bits wide it is. 8 data
bits, one parity bit. Also just called parity ram.

DM> I would also be appreciative if anyone could tell me what kind
DM> of price I could expect to pay for two of these 1Mb x 9 SIMMs.

Typically $80-100 ish
