subject: LF: Info on Solar/Battery ratings

Greetings,
I'm trying to make a decision as to which site to use for a communications
system. One site has very little in the way of protection or climate control
(no blockhouse or vault) so it will require that a 'box' be obtained for the
equipment and some sort of climate control/conditioning be included. On the
plus, the site is at a slightly higher altitude and has a bit better RF
coverage.
The other site has a concrete blockhouse with a locking steel door and access
control by means of a barbed wire chain-link gated fence, but it has no AC
power and for that reason has been abandoned by other users.
The equipment I plan on installing requires no more than 15 amps total at
12vDC, and then add a few more for cooling fans (no refrigeration) for a
grand total of probably around 20-25 amps, now what would be the best power
storage and recharging system for the non-AC supplied site (on a small
budget) ? The blockhouse is out in the open, so there is nothing around to
shade the solar cells. And operation needs to be 24hrs/7days, at a 50% or
higher duty cycle.
A fueled generator is not a consideration, as the site is not accessable at
all times of the year.
'Til next time,
     Bruce
