GP> Suggestions for controversial topics to get a Canadian echo hopping:
GP> (in no particular order)

GP> * "Is the USA Government Really Pro-Canada?"

They would be if they knew how to spell our name.

GP> * " Was the Greatest PM Canada Ever Had!"

Lester Pearson, by virtue of the fact that he was the last PM who left
us with a dollar that was above the U.S. in value. And by the fact that
he did not introduce deficit spending.

GP> * "Go Quebec!"

That one requires a long missive, which I'm disinclined to do at this
point. Suffice it to say: those who were for separation had a
legitimate beef which many of us failed to recognize. And they are in the
minority these days anyway. It all stems from an actual pro-English stance
that was present in Quebec prior to Le Parti Quebecois, where you could
only get a job in some fields if you spoke English. YOu were considered
something less than ideal if you didn't.

I do NOT believe in "pur lange" (or whatever that expression was that
seemed too much like "the master race"), nor do I believe in language
laws or language police. But I also don't believe most of Quebec believes
in those either. I spoke with a MOntrealer whose mother tongue was
French, and she said that after watching a particularly nasty exchange
between a French person and an English-only person, she was so ashamed that
she decided never to speak French again. Even though shopkeepers quickly
catch on to her accent, she refuses to speak in anything other than
English. I don't think she's in the minority there.

GP> * " is the BEST!!!"

I live in Ontario but have never been out west or to the Martimes.
Judgement suspended for the time being.

GP> * "Toronto sucks, eh?"

Hmmm. Not really. Parts of it does. I hate driving in it. But the
nightlife is unbelievable. And I'm all about the parties, man.

GP> * "Gay Marriages?"

Nothankyouverymuch. I was married. To a woman. I'll never understand
gay attraction, so you can see that I have no desire to ever get
married again, much less to a man. But thanks for asking.

:)
