Another developer asked the partition size question on IBM Talklink OS2BBS to which Mary popped in with more "Sauce for the Goose". It is worse than we thought. ---------------------- - OS2BASE CFORUM appended at 18:34:26 on 95/03/03 GMT (by MMONAHAN at BCRVM1) Subject: Largest Partition size for HPFS partition Ref: Append at 16:19:36 on 95/03/03 GMT (by DEV5314 at HONE80) Architecturally, 64G. Realistically < 16G. Conservatively < 10G. All the limitations come from CHKDSK, not HPFS. Partitions greater than 10G take forever for CHKDSK to complete. Partitions greater than 16G may never successfully CHKDSK. These issues are in the process of being addressed. Mary Monahan, OS/2 File System Development -------------------- So we have another written confirmation of a 64G implementation limit but it seems there were more land mines found as they looked into it. I don't know what if anything should or can be read into her last sentence. If more shows up, I will keep you posted.
