| subject: | Borland Turbo C++ in OS/ |
A creature called Joey Mukherjee screamed at Art Kim: AK> - BC does DOS, WIN, WIN32 correct? JM> The Borland C++ compiler for Windows does. The OS/2 version JM> doesn't (at least not directly). You could probably buy JM> both versions of the compiler and do multi-platform JM> development. Watcom does it out of the box... Heh, I did that for a while. BC 3.1, and BCOS2 1.0. Then I realised I was taking up over 90 megs with both of those, and installed Watcom, going down to 50 megs taken up. And I didn't even install BC's windows support... AK> What is required for OS/2 programming? JM> Patience! :-) I'm just starting and am finding it pretty JM> challenging. You also need an OS/2 compiler... ;-) Borland JM> C++ for OS/2 or Watcom C/C++ will both work... And a great reference. Find PRCP.INF, its an excellent reference on some of the OS/2 API calls. Then find a bunch of books... I usually use four here. .\\ike Stella --- ShadowMail/2 1.00* Origin: Shadowland/2 - USR DS V.34 - 203.456.1103 (1:327/138) SEEN-BY: 105/42 620/243 624/50 711/401 409 410 413 430 807 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 628 704 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 327/138 469 451 324/288 3615/50 105/103 42 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
