Hah. Coming from North Yorks farming stock.....it would have been brought
up right next to the sheep. That way the dog learns "sheep" from
an early age.

Our 2 grew up like that (Flash & then Jess).

Often the pup is born on or near lambing time such that the first sheep it
sees are lambs & also the farmer is then just about sleeping in the
lambing shed (tag team with his wife usually).
