subject: VB on a PC104

I am going to attempt to use an available ocx to interface a Snappy
frame grabber(now available for $12) to a PC104. I have several
questions.

1. Because I need a low power, quick boot system is there a way to
minimize a windows install on a PC104? (Since PLAY went under there is
no source code available, so I am stuck with thier ocx...and what I
assume is a requirement to use that ocx within vb or vc++....I might
be able to decipher thier parallel com protocol if I could log the
activity on the parallel port, but have been un-able so far. I've been
able to use PortMon to decipher Serial comms but parallel doesn't
appear to get logged.)

2. Or can a VB program run under DOS?

Any ideas or pointers to info would be greatly appreciated.

John
