But you Quebecbers are even more disadvantaged than we Yanks are.
I remember how frustrated my daughter was when we visited Montreal
back in the 60s. After more than six years studying scholastic
French rather well here, she could hardly satisfactorily verbaly
order a meal. (Fortunately I could still read French and point into
a menu enough that we didn't starve 8-). She has fortunately since
overcome that and after several trips to France (where she studied
painting) and Quebec, is quite conversant in either environment now.
