I think so, yes. Perhaps not as space-efficient as a binary header, but
we've all got compression and bandwidth is not the issue it was ten
years ago.

Me neither, and that's the problem. One way of doing it, if the 'big'
tosser authors maybe intend to implement it, is a stand-alone conversion
program that converts to and fro?
