Terry accepted an invitation to the Tidy Bowl by saying:
TM> I think not. :^)
I had a feeling about this year because the Irish haven't been getting the
kind of recruit that they did in the past and frankly, I'm not all that
convinced that Powlus is as good as he thinks he is.
TM> What pollsters? I've heard some in the media whine, but none that have
TM> identified themselves as pollsters.
They don't necessarily identify themselves. The Tulsa World's AP man IS
identified by the paper but I'm not sure if many others do (They also list
how he votes).
TM> Frankly, I think Spurrier SHOULD run up the score as much as he can,
TM> under the current system.
I wasn't just thinking about Florida, I was also thinking about Nebraska.
People were screaming about their game against UCF and totally disregarding
the fact that UCF had played 2 other heartbreakers before Nebraska.
TM> Ironically, the one trophy he let get away, Marcus Allen, came back
TM> to bite him, repeatedly.
You can bet that this is one ex-Raider that won't have Davis as a HOF
presenter.:-)
TM> And Raider fans still think this guy's a genius?
They took on George and his baggage and while he's doing ok NOW, he's always
done ok for the first year or so. I think it's funny how George's supporters
talk down his offensive lines every where he's gone and yet, for his first
year, that's never been a problem. It's only after he starts having problems
that the OL is suddenly below par and poor Georgie is being battered. The
money they spent on George would have been better spent on Hoss, the
offensive line and some defensive help.
TM> And they think zones will make scores go UP? If so, they really ARE
TM> stupid.
If they want scores to go up, they should hire coaches that believe in
entertaining the fans. Coaches like Fratello not rules are the reason why
scores are going down.
