I agree.  I capture the rec.radio.scanner newsgroup from AOL and usually 
delete most of the items.  Way too many commercial type junk postings and a 
few uninteresting items too.  I have not, however, been reading it long 
enough to see the "flaming" you mentioned.  But I can see where it could 
probably become a problem.  I read the scanradio echo here in Denver off the 
Enterprize BBS.  I definitely prefer it.  I usually don't have much to 
add(primarily because I don't do a lot of scanning and am no where near as 
technically competent as most of the others involved).  Hope this reply 
doesn't fall off topic too far.
