Mike, they make KVM switch boxes for switching the Keyboard, monitor and mouse between 2-3 or 4 computers. Jay MP>A short while ago, I read a message from one or two of you about wanting to use MP>one monitor for two or more computers, but that it was too much money for the MP>moment to buy the hardware. This may give you an idea or it may be redundant MP>info, but here goes.... :) MP>I recently picked up a data transfer switch box at a garage sale ($2.00). It MP>has 4 data switching positions and 15 pin interfaces plus the I/O. I also MP>snagged 2 cables with 15 pin interfaces on both ends ($1.00). I've seen the old MP>data transfer switch boxes for under $5.00 a few times. MP>I connected my 17" monitor to the I/O interface and two computers to the C and MP>D data interfaces. Bingo! Now, both of the computers display perfectly, MP>utilizing the same monitor by selecting the C or D interface. I still have the MP>A and B interfaces open and may do something with them later. MP>I've placed the two computers that are connected to the switch box on top of MP>each other and now have room for a printer on the same desk. I now have 4 MP>computers, 3 monitors and a printer on the desk in front of me and still have MP>room left for a large cup of coffee. The $3.00 was well spent. :) MP>Mike MP>--- Maximus 3.01 --- þ OLXWin 1.00b þ Philomonodipolythermogamism:Loving one too many hot womenMP> * Origin: Gypsy -=- Calgary Canada (403) 242-3221 (1:134/2) * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
