I'm playing with the ancient.
-Have a K7TA-H Socket A VIA chipset with duron 1.3 on which ECS 1.1
installed quite nicely. One ISA, 5 PCI slots and uses sdram. Even got
onboard sound to work (wave only). Onboard PATA (DMA66/100) USB 1.1.
Award bios. Says it supports NCR SCSI BIOS.
-Just got and attempting to get all working is Chaintech 9PJL3 478
socket with 2.0 pentium4 and DDR memory. Intel 845PE chipset. Onboard
Realtek 8101 LAN (lucky me). Onboard C-Media sound (tured off, couldn't
get working on ECS). No ISA. Onboard PATA (DMA66/100), SATA, USB
2.0/1.1. Award bios.
Thought the Intel should have been better, haven't found the advantage
yet, threatened a couple times to go back to the VIA. I think these are
the last two computers I'm building for a while, seems cheap to start
with, but always end up costing a lot.
