Hi Charles Angelich, hope you are having a nice day PW>> If I tried a 4x burn (max speed) roxio would blow up, and PW>>the only way was to run at 2x. :< CA>I use Roxio at 4x all of the time with no problems. Perhaps it CA>was the machine/softw combination that was the problem or an CA>older vers of Roxio? Considering I had to apply some 5meg(compressed) of patches and updates just to get the software to even recognize the drive it was shipped with and under the os it specified.. The docs claim it to be able to do what *I* wanted done but in practice the adaptec/roxio ecdc/dcd is a waste of space. The cdrecord programs I've still not been able to do what I need w/ cd-rw blanks but otoh full speed cd-r burns haven't been a bust. (i need to be able to read files from a cd-rw disk in dos only and os/2 systems w/o a udf/packet driver) The system is a PII/300 laptop w/ 160meg ram and the drive originally used a usb or pcmcia card interface, but since it's a `laptop' sized drive I converted the fixed 24x cd bay into a swappable drive bay so the burner is now master (and only) drive on the secondary ide bus. Not that a swappable drive bay is something toshiba thought of putting in a 4025cdt. ];> -=> Yours sincerely, Paul Williams <=- ...
