On a multitasking operating system there is a definite meaning to the word
"kill" when applied to processes. From the context of your later replies I
infer that you actually meant that your DOS program was slowing down your
background processes, not killing them. If a DOS program is able to _kill_
other processes on OS/2, then that is a serious issue worthy of note and
investigation, since that shouldn't be possible. If, however, it is merely
stealing CPU time from them, then that is a less serious problem, which can
usually be solved by the proper application of tools such as OSTSR, OS2SPEED,
TAME, or SLICER (for more details of which, see the OS2DOS Frequently Given
Answers).
Remember : if you have a problem, then describing it fully _and in the
correct terms_ is very important.
