subject: too many files

PM> 1. set up another point number (say .9)

Yep, that's free and ready for my use (guess who's got the number I really
wanted? :-) )

PM> 2. use Squish to split up all inbound mail without tossing to the message
 PM> base.

Now that I know what the problem is, it wouldn't have been fixed by doing
this either.

PM> 3. use Tobruk to process mail for .9 and toss to the message base.

This option wasn't really available to me whilst I had QWK users.

PM> This would require a little stuffing around with configuration files but
PM> not too much. It also has several advantages:

PM> - we stop getting grunged packets!!!

Yep.

PM> - you get your message bases updated

Yep.

PM> - you get to test Tobruk in a real life situation

Yep.

I wasn't able to do it before, but with points-only, I am now able to do
that, so I will. It will take some time to set up though, which certainly
wasn't an option this week. I was so buggered with this all these hassles,
I even did the unspeakable at work. I was so tired that I wasn't thinking
straight and copied one program onto another, destroying all the work I had
done (fortunately it was only 1/2-1 hour's worth. That is the first time I
have ever done that. The only other thing like it is that I deleted all of
Tobruk one day, as you will recall. And actually I would be in the exact
situation that Tobruk is designed for then - processing packets to packets,
not having an intervening messagebase. BFN.
