-> What a long strange trip it's been. The latest leg of the journey has
-> been from Philadelphia BACK to the Washington DC area. Neither Esther
-> nor I could find jobs up there, so once Dad was about to be safely
-> ensconced in a continuing-care home (with lots of helpful advice from
-> Tom Pardue, for those of you who remember him), I convinced Esther to
-> take a trip back to DC and check what jobs her agency would have for her
-> if she were to come back. (She was technically on a leave of absence,
-> so they had to give her *A* job, just not necessarily the one she left.)
-> It turned out that a very plum job she had had her eye on for a year and
-> a half was open. She applied and got it. So, instead of coming back
-> around next March or so (her leave would expire in April), we came back
-> in November! Long story short, we accelerated fixing up, clearing out,
-> and selling off Dad's house (we got the last of our stuff out last week,
-> and settlement is tomorrow!), we found a nice house in Fairfax VA (about
-> four miles from our old digs in Vienna VA), and I'm still looking for
-> work (resume etc. available at http://dja2001.home.att.net).
->
->
-> So what's new with everyone else?
->

  That is a long strange trip, best of luck.
  We're still on the Oregon shores where we
  washed up, the wee ones now in college or
  headed there. ($ouch$)

  Leastways you were out of town during the
  sniping excitement. I get to McLean once
  or twice a year (hdqtrs). He picked one off
  at the Home Depot up the street the day we all
  left. One of the Israelis at the head office
  remarked he'd feel safer in Jerusalem.

  Yes, do remember Pardue. Writ a little ditty
  I diddy I think, went something like this:

  Lurk awhile in ethereal IQ
  The space where it splits in two
  One married a horse
  That's normal of course
  When stuck in a mind with no glue.

 'Nuther dime onna line came through
  Lost in a fugue he knew
  Mozartist Snake
  He took the cake
  I wonder about Pardue.
