Well that may be; however, what they are measuring is after all,
the color of light reaching their scopes. I could see how the
holodeck computer may have some glitch in the code which is now
changing the color of the light, the degree of red-shift, and the
data is not relevant to the question.
There is also the possibility that since they have discovered the
minimum diameter of a pixel of reality, that the pixels are still
being created and added to the web of space, in effect adding to
the distance between objects in it. there is no reason to think
that such creation is at a stable rate... expanding faster this
week, not so fast next week. ;-)
