subject: Timing routine

Hello All!
I want a timing routine (pref down to 10ths seconds or better res) which can
be used to time how long a program takes to run, that *doesn't* reprogram the
timer chip or anything like that.
reason for this is I envisage the program being used in MT environments(heck,
Iwrite in one most of the time!) and at a guess the timer chip only has one
setting, not one per task, so reporgramming it will affect any other programs
that rely on/use it.
Anyone out there able to help?
Code not necessary if you can give a decent algorithm :-)
Dave
