Anything that comes in numbers approaching those of Grackles is TOO much of
WHATEVER!  Whitewing doves are the most innocuous birds imaginable until 2 or 
3
hundred thousand of them descend on your grain crop!  
The wild parrots don't even have the protection afforded the Grackles though.
They're not considered indigious..... (Why NOT we can't discern but the
beurocrats(sp) do.)  and they're not considered migratory, since they're NOT,
so they fall through the cracks and every kid who gets a BB gun for Christmas
is gonna be after them.   GRRRrrrrr!
Grackles are protected since they're the state bird of SOMEBODY!
