Could be, as I wasn't watching all that carefully.  I'd changed the
modem config the day before, and only realized it when the % efficiency
stat came up at the end of the poll.  Normally it's 1650cps (114%) give
or take a bit.  What rates do you get when everything is going al right?
Which correction/compression protocol do you normally use?

Come to think of it, I've never had a connection problem of any kind,
whether I use V32b/MNP4 or V32b/V42/V42b (normal setting).  The odd
thing is though that Brenton at least used to get the occasional failed
negotiation, at least in the early days with the Sportster - haven't
thought to ask recently though.
