SC>JP>I'm flabbergasted. None of my cats (over the years)
SC>JP>have been comfortable in a car if they could see out
SC>JP>of their carrying case. We bought one of those huge
SC>JP>shoebox affairs with slots along the sides, a handle
SC>
SC>My cat, Jetta, loves to go for rides in the car. I tried to keep her in
SC>a cage while riding but she is much happier roaming around. She will
SC>climb up on my shoulder or the seat back and just watch the traffic.
Jaz (my deceased kitty) loved to ride in the van. She also preferred
the freedom of roaming the van during the ride to being in her kennel so
we only kept her enclosed when the traffic was heavy so she wouldn't
distract us. She learned fairly quickly not to bother the driver (we
used a harness and leash to teach her that) but she loved to climb up
on the passenger for cuddles while she watched the traffic pass by. She
also spent a lot of time on the back of the passenger's seat. :)
I hope that Nikki (my new kitty) will learn to do the same because we
want to take him camping with us like we did Jaz. *S* He's doing
pretty well in the travel department so far but his personality is very
different from Jaz's so I guess only time will tell. :)
Take care,
Vikki
