 I think the quality of the bike is very important. I've got 5 bikes.4 of
 them are mtbs and one of them is a hybrid. When i go to work or shcool 
 on a cheap one of them for (say) a week after using (say) my Cannondale 
 i see the difference. In some of the newer design bikes , the unmatchable 
 quality is very easily seen. i see this most of the new generation bikes.
 In Treks and Cannondales (as I ride one). But i see some "modern" bikes 
 worth of 1500$ with untrustworthy brakes , components and weird frame 
 angles which makes maintaining tha balance very difficult.
