How much do you get for an average wedding video? In
this market (which is a LOT smaller than Phoenix) the
average guy gets around $500 for a video. I was approached
by a friend of a producer I work for to shoot her wedding
video (which as a favour I thought I'd do for basically
peanuts), I got turned down because I hadn't shot a wedding
before!!! Come on now, I've shot news, corporates, heads
of government, a wedding isn't that tough! But I
agree with you-it is a special moment in people's lives
so they want to make sure that you don't "screw it up."

Exactly. As a friend of mine said "if we wanted to make lots
of money, we wouldn't be working in television." I've done
(and am still doing) a variety of tasks (from grip to exec
producer) and love every part of it.
