Yes.  There is a 2 Gig limit on the zip file size (even if the target goes
on a JFS drive).  I finally broke my (zip-based) backup scheme when the
zip files started getting too large.  What worked was to use the exclude
option to exclude one or two of the largest directory trees, and then zip
them separately.
