There's a bare possibility that this is closer to the truth
than you may have intended.  Back when he was growing up in
Hot Springs, that town was allegedly a Mafia-controlled
resort area.  IIRC, it fell under the "jurisdiction" of
whichever family ruled organized crime in Chicago.
