-> As your boat is a bit bigger than mine, that was going to be my other
-> suggestion on that. You could probably utilize a snatch
-> block at the bow to save having to fasten a permanent one there.
Dan: The snatch block idea sounds fine but it would be cheaper to
mount a standard trailer hitch to the tongue of the trailer and use the
jib sail halyard and connect it through another line to the second
winch.
-> That's what I do with mine. BTW, I practiced the proceedure once in
-> my yard before attempting to look too foolish down at the
-> marina! After all, I'm still known as the "guy that turtled
-> in the bay".
The first time I stepped the mast in the driveway, and use the
sidestays to prevent it from falling sideways. The first time I went
sailing I forgot the sidestays and after I thought everything was ready,
I noticed my spreaders were missing. I had to un-step the mast to
install the spreaders. The first time out I also forgot the
instructional manual and trying to figure things out was a royal pain, I
even installed the boom upside down, never noticed until we were in the
water.
