* Crossposted to FTSC_PUBLIC : Discussion with FTSC

Hi Folks,

People commonly enquire where they can locally pick up a certain FTSC
document or file. Unfortunately, it is often difficult to tell them if
there is such a site.

There are probably a good number of sysops out there who maintain an
archive of the FTSC documents and keep them up to date through the FTSC
fileecho or some other means.

We would like to compile a list of sites, on FidoNet, the InterNet and
other FTNs from which it is possible to obtain this sort of document. If
you have such an archive, we'd greatly appreciate your help to provide a
local pick up point in as many different locations as possible.

Clearly different sites have different sort of contents in line with their
needs, so a star rating system will be used to indicate what sort of files
someone might expect to find on your system.

If you are interested, please send me the following details, and I will
compile a list for periodic posting in FTSC_PUBLIC.

If you're interested, please include in your message the type of site, the
address and what sort of star rating you think is appropriate.

Type of Site (FTN Node / Web Site / FTP Site / Gopher Site / etc)

If you're a node, maybe you could mention whether the files
    are available to BBS users.

The star rating proposed is...

*    One Star

This sort of site has a collection of all current FTA, FTS and FSC, FSP
documents. (That is, administrative documents, standards and proposals).

** Two Star

This sort of site also has all FRL documents. (There aren't any of these
released yet to my recollection, this is therefore a gesture of willingness
for the (hopefully not too distant) future)

*** Three Star

This sort of site also has documents and files related to specific working
groups. (For example, there are a number of relevant files for working
group Y (Year 2000 issues) which have not been released by the FTSC channel
itself).
