Bob,
BD>AA> That's because you're doing it incorrectly. According to
BD>AA> your instructions above, you do not have "white space" (and
BD>AA> I really don't know what you mean by that) between your
BD>AA> last character and the Paragraph mark,
BD>Wrong, Adam. White space should equate to the single space character and
any
BD>other combination of tabs and spaces. How do you explain that Word 7.0
finds
BD>SOME of the spaces and replaces them when searching for white space?
BD>I was curious how you could state so adamantly that he was doing it wrong
BD>when you didn't know what white space is.
BD>Its a bug, plain and simple.
Okay. Let's just put it this way - >I< have never used ^w ("white
space") as the search/replace criteria, but I >have< used just the space
key and other characters and have had no problems whatsoever.
If you happen to have a document which displays this behavior, I would
be quite anxious to see and try to duplicate the error. If you have one
that (zipped) is less than 64k, you can send it to me via my e-mail
address at the bottom. If there >is< such a bug, I would very much like
to know about it and have it confirmed (as I said, I use the function
quite often).
