Hello All!
Sorry about the system being down from 12 noon till 7.30pm. What the
problem seems to be is that as well as the problem I already told you about
(which is currently being circumvented thanks to the generosity of Paul
Markham lending me his ISA IDE controller card), there is another problem
with the Maxtor hard disk. It seems to get overheated and pass out.
Anyway, it's a long story about the tragedy of moving OS/2 from one
partition to the other (and failing), but the long and the short of it is
that if I leave my computer switched off for half an hour (or whatever),
the IDE drive stays up long enough for boot manager to let me select to
boot off my IDE drive, and also the IDE declares itself to be "C
drive" for long enough for OS/2 to boot without changing drive
letters. BFN.
Paul
