True. OTOH the most unspeakable example of an obscenity I have ever seen
on Fido was against someone who added FREQ capability to a terminal
prog, forget precisely which one, as you say, there are quite a few with
that capability.

The person who had precisely the same reaction to Hamish, pretended to
be the author of the terminal prog with FREQ capability, entered a
UUCODEd message in DrDebug, purporting it was a tiny cache which was far
better than Hypertext and Smartdrive. It was a simple hard disk killer,
creamed your hard disk if you ran it. Went to quite a bit of trouble to
make it difficult to work out what it did, and a fair amount of trouble
to make the message details like the SEENBYS etc reasonably plausible.
Corse, once it was realised what it actually did it was more obviously a
fraud in the purported author of the message too, but its easy to look
harder when you know its a bomb.

Never seen anything like it. It was preceded by the most rabid attacks
I have ever seen directly on the author in the international comms
echoes too, demanding he remove that capability from the terminal prog.
A good couple of years ago now.
