But, you were purchasing a digital cell phone, and not a digital PCS phone.
PCS, no matter how some unscrupulous cell phone companies market their 
product, is completely and totally different from Cellular, different
products, frequency, etc.
Given the frequency range of PCS, and the power, he is right, it will be
a long time before the range is the same as Celllular.  Building penetration
will be better though.
