| subject: | Pipes in EMX |
Hi, All.
I am having some problems working out how to use anonymous pipes in EMX.
I want to start a child process and communicate with its stdin and stdout.
I have looked at popen(), which lets me start it with a pipe connected to
stdin *or* stdout, but it doesn't seem to be what I want; and pipe(), which
creates a pipe with two handles (one for reading and one for writing) but I
can't understand how I am supposed to 'connect' this pipe to a process.
Can anyone help?
Oh, and please don't suggest I use DosCreateNamedPipe() instead; for a
start I have a natural affinity for platform-independent code (I know pipes
aren't entirely portable but they're closer to platform-independent than
the API is). Also, I don't have any documentation for the API yet.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help,
Andrew.
