| subject: | [OS2HW] What do I have here? |
I recently bought a Seagate Barracuda Model ST 150176LC from Surplus
Computers on the web. As I was starting to install it the first thing I
noticed was the connector on the scsi cable was about a half inch
smaller than the connection on the back of the drive. Then I saw that
there was no place on the drive to connect the power.
Looking closer at what I thought was the scsi connection point I see
that there is a piece of plastic that divides the receptical in half.
It looks like it should be plugged into a card rather than a cable.
I downloaded the manual for the drive and the installation section shows
a picture of the scsi connection on the left and the power connection
on the right. The drive I have has its connection centered.
Has anyone else seen anything like this before? I am wondering if they sent
me a drive for some kind o special installation.
Regards, Jim
