My son's mother had a peculiar reaction to Valium, which was given to her
when she was being prepped for surgery: instead of getting drowsy, she sat
bolt upright and began laughing her head off at everything that was said to
her. They had to strap her down until it wore off.
I have no idea if that is related to AD(H)D or not.
