It was a mistake to setup a state based on a persecuted minority. Imagine
if after the civil war here the US set up a state for people of color? Do
you think that would have helped to eliminate prejudice or to reinforce and
justify it?

I listen to these nutters who want to create a "muslim state" and
then I think of our support for Israel and realize we are just as bad. How
can a people (us) who believe in freedom of religion support a state based
on one religion?

He would have a whole lot less influence if nobody acknowledged him. Bush
should be downplaying all these pikers like the administration did the
first time the WTC was bombed, talk like it was just some noname group that
has no real following and you take power away, talk like they are a major
threat to the free world and you just gave them tons of power.

This administration in interested in fear mongering, because that's where
their power originates.
