They did it right from the start. It is called systemic warfare & is a
std doctrine. It's mucho akin to the Red Army using the steamroller whether
you were the Werhmacht or Hungarian democracy seekers.

The metaphor is that by attacking "the system" by which a country
is governed/controlled etc e.g. communications (inc roads, rail, telecoms),
command structure, power, fuel, economic targets, control targets (police
bases, ministries etc) etc.etc. you act like a car crash or severe
infection in that you put the body into "shock" & it's
actually the shock wot paralyzes & possibly kills.

Now...does any of that list look familiar wrt what they were up to in Gaza?
Hummm....ministries, police stations, power, economic targets..hummmm

So then they just extended this up to Lebanon...

It's Systemic warfare. Aimed to cause the systemic failure of a country.

As an example their forcing out of the civie population form the south is
part of the strategy. The idea is to then tax the resources of the country
wrt feeding & housing the displaced, block the roads with fleeing
refugees etc.

It never was anything other than country2country. They want to "put
pressure on" the Lebanese civilians so as to cause political change
within Lebanon.

& wrt natural ally....why does it need any local friends when it has
you? It's part of why this keeps in going. They have no real incentive to
get on which their neighbors except in terms of threatening them with harm
coz they've got a big thick mate who can come round any time they whistle.
